1.A historic German library that suffered severe damage in a fire five months ago has reopened. The Duchess Anna Amalia Library, located in Weimar in a 16th-century palace, lost 50,000 works, including classics from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, in a September fire. The new wing, which cost $32.4 million, includes a system of underground stacks and can house up to one million books, according to an AP report.
