In Japan, statistics are being released by both official agencies and private organizations. Although “Monthly Survey on Service Industry" is being released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, official statistics on a predicted market size of the foodservice industry are not available. This study examines differences in methods for market size estimation including how to release the estimated and predicted market sizes across four countries. Moreover, we predict the market size of the foodservice industry using a seasonal autoregressive integrated moving average model and a deep learning model.
