This study aims toexamine the directionality of the revision of planned road without any improvement for long-time (improvement on the present plan or abolition and present road improvement) and its requirements. As the results of the investigations of the traffic function of the object road, the built-up conditions of the roadside and the consciousness and intention of roadside residents by taking up "Taishou Line" in Echizen City as a case, the aspects of the problems and the requirements for the improvement etc. are presented.
